Dangers of illegal money lending

We have produced a video to raise awareness of the dangers of illegal money lending and loan sharks.

It is based on the real-life experiences of a Tai Tarian tenant and focuses on the misery, stress and dangers borrowing money illegally can cause people.

Illegal money lending or being a loan shark is a criminal offence.  As the film shows, lenders offer help to solve financial problems.  However, this help often turns to intimidation and threats of violence when re-payments are missed.  It can be an awful experience and can have a negative impact on health and well-being.

If you have become a victim of illegal money lending, then contact us for help and advice.
