We manage around 9000 homes across Neath Port Talbot. Every week, between 8:30am on Friday until 12pm on Monday, we advertise any properties we have available for letting.

If you're on our waiting list, you can apply (or 'bid' as we call it) for a suitable home. We then allocate those homes to people who need them the most and how long they have had that need.

Homelessness help

Unfortunately we are not able to provide emergency housing assistance. Your journey: From application to offer

Step 1: Applying for housing	Application received Evidence checked (ID, household, health/welfare where relevant Applications may be held if information is missing You can start the application process here
Step 2: Live for bidding with band and category	Applications assessed against the banding criteria Band reflects level of housing need, not length of time waiting. We aim to assess applications within 60 days of them being submitted
Step 3: Bid each weekend	Properties advertised on our website Each available home is given a category You can bid on any home that matches the category you have been given All bids are considered based on your band and how long you have been in your band
Step 4: Matched, offered and allocated	Highest priority applicant who meets eligibility is shortlisted Given the high amount of bids received it will not be possible to contact unsuccessful bidders One suitable provisional offer is made Further checks (affordability, suitability, verification) Offer of property subject to checks being supported by our applications team

 

Understanding the demand 

Many people apply for our homes every week, so not everyone will get one straight away. In 2025/26 almost 21,000 applications were made for just 447 homes that became available. On average, people wait around 539 days from their initial application to getting the keys to a home.

• Gold band (30%)
• Silver/Bronze bands (24%)

Demand is very high in some areas - in Sandfields, 67 properties attracted over 5,000 bids, meaning that only about 1 in every 100 applicants was successful.
