Time for community groups to thrive
Tuesday 02 June 2026
Time to Thrive is a brand-new community grants programme from Tai Tarian.
The programme has grants available from £500 up to £10,000 for an array of local sports teams, schools, arts societies or wellbeing groups – any organisation that benefits the local community will be able to apply.
Grants will be awarded to groups under a number of different categories, in line with the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act, which seeks to improve the social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing of our communities. The categories are resilience, health, equality, cohesive communities, and vibrant culture and language.
One of the first groups to benefit from the grant will be Mount Pleasant Bowls Club in Neath. Andrew Harris from the club said:
“The club has been going since 1914, and we run three teams, who all play several times a week during the season. Unfortunately though, our facilities are in a poor state and are not fit for purpose.
“Thankfully, we’ve now been awarded a Time to Thrive grant from Tai Tarian which will enable us to upgrade our toilets. This will not only benefit our own members, but also teams who visit us and members of the tennis club next door who also use them, so people right across our community will benefit.
We’d like to thank Tai Tarian, the funding is going to make a huge difference to us.”
Roxanne Collins, Tai Tarian’s Community Engagement Officer said:
“Time to Thrive is all about investing in local projects that bring people together and creates lasting positive change.
“We’ve seen that here at Mount Pleasant and how they’re open to all members of the community. Giving them a grant to upgrade facilities will allow them to continue doing this for years to come.”
Time to Thrive grants are funded by Tai Tarian’s contractors, who, as part of their contracts, commit to giving back to the local communities in which they work.
