Housing team hits the streets for ASB week
Thursday 03 July 2025

As part of Anti-Social Behaviour Week, 17 of our housing officers took to the streets of Neath Port Talbot to engage directly with tenants, raise awareness of how we deal with anti-social behaviour (ASB), and understand any issues affecting our communities.
Officers buddied up visiting communities across the borough, speaking to tenants, offering advice, and listening to their experiences.
Donna Davies, one of our housing team leaders visited Melin with housing officers Paul and Lee:
“It was a glorious week to be out in the community. We buddied up and hit the streets, speaking to tenants face-to-face, offering advice and support. The conversations were really positive, people appreciated us being visible and taking the time to chat and listen.
"Where tenants weren’t home, we left leaflets, giving them need to know info on ASB and our contact details should they need us. We even engaged with some local businesses and managed to catch a few tenants on their way into bingo, a really nice way to start a conversation!”
These visits are part of our commitment to being visible, proactive, and supportive. They also gave us the chance to share information about how tenants can report ASB and what we have in place to resolve it.
What should I do if I’m affected by ASB?
If it feels safe to do so, try speaking to the person involved. Sometimes, a calm conversation can help resolve things, but we understand this isn’t always possible.
Instead, you can report ASB to using the following ways:
- Phone: 0300 777 0000
- E-mail: tenancyrelations@taitarian.co.uk
- In person: Speak to your housing officer
If the behaviour is criminal, report it to the police on 999 if an emergency or 101 if not. You can also report non-emergency cases of ASB to the police online.
What happens after I’ve reported ASB?
We’ll record your complaint and any relevant evidence and compile a risk assessment with you.
We’ll investigate the complaint and agree an action plan with you. We’ll keep you informed throughout the whole process.
We understand it can be difficult to come forward when reporting ASB, but by working with us, we can help you get the issues resolved and provide you with the right support.
Together, we can create safer, stronger, sustainable communities for everyone.
