Christmas 2025 - Useful information

Over the festive period there’ll be some changes to our normal services.

The changes will be in effect from 12:30pm on Wednesday 24th December 2025 until 8am on Friday 2nd January.

Reporting repairs
During this time we will only be able to deal with emergency repairs.  If you have an emergency repair to report, please call us on 0300 777 3000.  (You can check what we class as an emergency on our website.)

You can still report non-emergency issues with your home on our website page during the Christmas period. If you report an issue via the page, a member of the team will contact you when we return in the new year.

Gas leak
If you smell gas or suspect that there is a leak in or around your home, call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999

Power cut
If you experience a power cut, please report it by calling 105 or by visiting www.powercut105.com

Payments
You can continue to make payments through the Allpay app and through Allpay automated payment line on 0330 041 6497. The automated payment line has a low-cost call rate and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To use this service, you will need an Allpay payment card and then follow the instructions on the call to make a payment.

Homes by Choice
The final Homes by Choice of 2025 will run from Friday 19th December to Monday 22nd December.  It won’t be possible to bid for a new property over the Christmas break.  Homes by Choice will return on Friday 9th January.

Homelessness
If you are in urgent need of housing because you are homeless or about to become homeless, please contact Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council’s housing options team on 01639 685219 or visit the council's website

Food banks
If you need to use a food bank over the festive break, you can find out when they’re opened or closed here:

Neath:
Open Tuesday 23rd December and Tuesday 30th December

Port Talbot: 
Wednesday 24th December Tabernacle - Closed
Friday 26th December Carmel - Closed
Monday 29th December Carmel - Closed
Wednesday 31st December Tabernacle - Closed
Normal opening times will resume on Friday 2nd January 2026 at Carmel.

Ystalyfera
Open as usual on Monday 22nd December, then closed until Friday January 2nd, when they’ll be open as normal.

Pantry Food Bank (Pontardawe)
Open every Tuesday and Saturday over the Christmas period

Anti-social behaviour
If you are experiencing anti-social behaviour, please report it to the police on 101, or 999 if it’s an emergency
