Sharing our favourite Welsh words

Today marks Shwmae Day, a celebration of the Welsh language. It’s a chance to say “Shwmae!” -  “Hi!” to friends and neighbours and for us to show that Cymraeg belongs to everyone, whether you’re fluent, learning, or proud of our Welsh heritage.

In a recent survey, nearly two-thirds of people told us that keeping the Welsh language alive really matters to them, which gives us even more reason to celebrate today.
