Tenants Enjoy Early Christmas Lunch
Christmas came early for tenants as they got together to enjoy the annual Christmas Big Sunday Lunch on Sunday 13th December at Bar Gallois in Aberavon.
Organised by NPT Homes in conjunction with tenants in the Sheltered Social Group and NPTCVS, the social gathering saw around 60 tenants from across the Borough welcome in the festive holiday over lunch.
Giving tenants the chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, the day included a festive three course meal and plenty of entertainment including a singer, Christmas quiz, raffle and a Christmas jumper competition.
Tenant Kerry Cokely said:
“The Christmas lunch was lovely and the staff at Bar Gallois were fantastic. I had a great time and really enjoyed getting to know other tenants. I took part in the Christmas jumper competition and everyone got involved in the festivities. It’s definitely got me in the Christmas spirit and I can’t wait for the next Big Lunch event.”
NPT Homes’ Tenant Empowerment Officer, Lynsey Hargreaves, said:
“The event was a great success and it was heart-warming to see so many residents having fun together. These events are so important, bringing communities together and reducing the isolation and loneliness felt by some older tenants, especially at this time of year.
The events always prove so popular which is why we try to hold them as regularly as possible. We are looking for tenant volunteers to join our Sheltered Social Group to help us plan more lunches, trips and other activities in 2016.”
