Tai Tarian shortlisted for two prestigious awards
Tai Tarian is celebrating after being named as finalists in two categories at the UK’s flagship housing awards.
The Neath Port Talbot based social housing provider has been shortlisted in the Landlord of the Year and Professional Services Partner of the Year categories at the UK Housing Awards.
Run by the Chartered Institute of Housing and Inside Housing magazine, the awards showcase the very best that the industry has to offer and are considered a symbol of excellence for the Housing sector.
The Landlord of the Year nomination comes after judges were impressed by Tai Tarian’s commitment to building good quality, new homes in areas of high demand. They also commended the housing provider on its social initiatives to help tenants manage their finances and its Copper Foundation programme which offers employment opportunities to those who normally struggle to find work.
Tai Tarian’s Professional Services Partner of the Year nomination comes as a result of its close working partnership with South Wales Police to combat anti-social behaviour and ‘County Lines’ drug problems in local communities. The ‘Better Together’ partnership includes joint patrols, community drop-in offices and a more formalised way of sharing information. This work has seen both organisations being more accessible and has resulted in them forging stronger relationships with tenants and helping to create safer communities.
Reacting to the shortlisting, Claire Maimone, Tai Tarian’s Director of Housing and Corporate Services said:
“We’re thrilled to have been named as finalists at these prestigious awards, especially as we’re the only Welsh organisation in the Landlord of the Year category. It is great to see that these initiatives and the hard work of staff to improve our communities has been formally recognised.
The judges were impressed with our commitment to partnership working and engagement with the community and shows that the work we are doing with our tenants is making a difference.”
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a ceremony on 1st May at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
