Tai Tarian service to answer residents' queries
Residents living near a major housing development in Skewen are being kept up to date on progress thanks to a Tai Tarian initiative.
The development on Burrows Road in Skewen is currently seeing the construction of 12 flats, four houses and a bungalow as the social housing provider seeks to ease pressure on local housing stock.
In order to keep local residents informed on progress of the construction work, the social housing provider has introduced its Tenant Liaison Service to the area.
The service, which normally supports tenants during renovations to their own properties, is being extended for the first time to include non-tenants who want to be kept informed during construction work in their locality.
Steve Grey is the Tenant Liaison Officer responsible for the Burrows Road area. He said:
“This project is one of our biggest developments and we are aiming to ensure it goes smoothly and with as little disruption as possible to local residents. However, due to the nature of construction work there could be some noise and inconvenience and so my role is to liaise with residents and work with them to resolve any concerns they may have.
As well as liaising with tenants, we’ll also be taking a pro-active approach and getting involved in local community groups and schools so that everyone is fully informed of what our plans are.”
Tai Tarian Tenant Liaison Manager, Rebecca Thomas said:
“The construction of these homes will bring some much needed, affordable housing to the area and we are keen to ensure that local residents are kept up to date on progress. Introducing our Tenant Liaison Service will do this and it has been greatly appreciated by residents at our other sites. Steve has lots of experience in this role, and is keen to respond to any questions residents may have.”
Residents living near the site and have any queries relating to the development can contact Steve Grey, Tenant Liaison Officer on 07816 796318 or e-mail steve.grey@taitarian.co.uk
Construction work is due to be completed in summer 2018
