Tai Tarian donates £2000 to local good causes
Tai Tarian staff have made donations to a number of local food banks and charities.
This comes after office staff, having had to work from home during the coronavirus outbreak, chose not to stop contributing towards tea, coffee and milk supplies for the office, but to divert the money into a special fund with the amount being donated to local good causes.
Following a staff vote, £1500 was split between the Vale of Neath Foodbank Glynneath, Building Blocks Resolven, Neath Foodbank, Pantry Foodbank Pontardawe and Port Talbot Foodbank. In addition, NPT Mind, which helps provide support to people living with mental health conditions received £500 from the fund.
Margaret Jones from Port Talbot foodbank said:
“We are very grateful to Tai Tarian staff for this very kind donation. It has been a busy time for us over the past few months, supporting people who have suffered financial hardship as a result of the pandemic. The next few months also look like being very busy so we are very grateful for this generous donation which will go a long way to helping us support the people who need us.”
Clare Way, Deputy Director of Housing at Tai Tarian said:
“Despite working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic, staff have continued to pay into a fund that normally buys refreshments for the office. They decided that they still wanted to contribute, with the money instead being used to support local good causes that are helping people through this tough time.
Through our staff’s generosity, we’ve been able to donate a total of £2000 to these charities which we hope will go some way to help the most vulnerable members of our communities.”
