Success for Mair at Transport Awards

A young, female employee at NPT Homes is celebrating after winning a prestigious award in what is traditionally a male dominated industry.

Mair Jones, Transport Manager, for the housing provider won the Transport Manager of the Year category at the annual Talent in Logistics Awards ceremony in Telford last week.

Organised by the RTITB, the regulatory body for the sector, the awards recognise and celebrate the skills of people in the logistics industry.

Mair, who is also a qualified HGV driving assessor, is responsible for keeping the organisation’s fleet of 130 commercial vehicles on the road.  She won the award after demonstrating an outstanding commitment to road user safety, customer service excellence and high levels of compliance.

Speaking after being crowned the winner, Mair said:
“I’m thrilled to have been named Transport Manager of the Year.  It’s a great honour to have won this award and to be recognised by an industry that is traditionally a male dominated one.”
