St Illtyd’s Church Set to Kick Off 2017 Community Challenge
St Illtyd’s Chuch in Neath is set to become the first of eight different projects to receive a makeover as part of NPT Homes’ 2017 Community Challenge.
The challenge is a joint partnership programme between the housing provider and its main contractors, which allows different community projects to benefit from a day of free building or maintenance work.
Volunteers from NPT Homes and its contractor ASW Property Services will spend a day clearing and cleaning the church’s grounds, including removing moss and overgrowth from the main paths. In addition landscaping work will be undertaken which will allow the picturesque church to be clearly seen from the nearby canal towpath.
The church’s Rector, Stephen Ryan said:
“We are really looking forward to being part of the 2017 Community Challenge. The church grounds have been crying out for some maintenance and we are thrilled that volunteers from NPT Homes and ASW will spend the day here ensuring that this historic church is looking its best.”
Paul Phillips of ASW Property Services said:
"We are proud to be working with NPT Homes on their community challenge this year. Giving something back to the communities in which we operate is very important to us as a company and we can’t wait to get started on this project at St Illtyd’s Church.”
The work at St Illtyd’s Church in Neath is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 5th May 2017.
