Six new members of staff have joined social housing provider Tai Tarian to help ensure it continues to provide quality maintenance of its homes and excellent customer service.

Four brick-layers and two labourers began their new roles this week strengthening the growing organisation which covers Neath Port Talbot.

The new recruits, who bring a wealth of building experience, will be providing day to day maintenance on tenant’s homes.

Chris Jones, Property and Maintenance Inspector at Tai Tarian, said, “We’re delighted to welcome our new recruits and are really looking forward to working with them.

“They are all eager to get going and are going to strengthen our workforce enabling us to provide an even more efficient and effective service to our tenants.”

Bricklayer Dorian Johns will be working with labourers Rhodri Reynolds and Adam Jones in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot.

Mark John will be working as a bricklayer in Briton Ferry, Gavin Evans in Margam and Kieran Thomas in Pontardawe.

This week will be spent training and shadowing staff before they begin delivering their roles fully from next week onwards.

Kieran Thomas, from Neath, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, said he was really looking forward to working within his own community.

He said, “I’m so looking forward to working for Tai Tarian as I know I’ll be able to give back to the community and help the people who live here which is very important to me.

“I’ve lots of experience, particularly as a brick-layer, and excited to be joining an organisation that people speak highly of, I’m eager for opportunities to make a difference.”

Tai Tarian is one of the largest social landlords in Wales and has responsibility for over 9,000 properties across the Neath Port Talbot County Borough.
