RNIB Partner with NPT Homes to Offer Free Sight Loss Guidance to Residents

NPT Homes has joined forces with RNIB Cymru to help residents dealing with the challenges of sight loss.
So far sessions have taken place in Godrecoed Sheltered Scheme Cadoxton and Michaelstone Court Sheltered Scheme Cwmavon with more planned for Neath and Sandfields in November and December.

The series of sessions are designed to tackle the everyday challenges of sight loss and encourage people to take positive steps to improve and enjoy their lives. Residents throughout the Borough are invited to attend and can bring a friend or family member with them for support.

Advice on making adaptions at home and getting out and about is covered and it is recommended that people attend the series of sessions to fully benefit from the programme.

NPT Homes Business Support Assistant Amy Hines said:
“As part of our partnership work with RNIB we are able to support those with visual impairments and help them to make adaptions to make a huge difference to their quality of life.
Residents can book their space by contacting the Tenant Empowerment Team on 01639 508455 and are welcome to attend with a family member or friend.”

John Phillips who attended the session at Michaelstone Court added:
“As I have been living with my condition for many years this was a good opportunity to share my experiences, get to grips with visual impairment and learn about the small steps we can take to make life easier.
I would recommend that other local people sign up to the sessions.”
