Tai Tarian’s commitment to making lasting positive changes in our local communities and our environment has been recognised with a prestigious accolade.

Assessors from Healthy Working Wales have awarded the organisation our “Platinum Status Check” which acknowledges we are meeting corporate goals whilst supporting the wellbeing of future generations is a core value of the organisation.

In his feedback report, Assessor Peter Rimmer said:

“A strong and demonstrable commitment to sustainability has led to wide-ranging initiatives including a strong focus on activities to support the community, to improve the local environment, and to provide new opportunities for young people.”

They looked at a whole range of evidence and examples of where Tai Tarian are ahead of the game, including:

  • Robust and well-managed procurement policies and practices.
  • Increased biodiversity and community spaces through engagement with the local community including local schools.
  • Food Bank donations and initiatives to help people struggling with the cost of living.
  • The Copper Foundation and creation of apprenticeships.
  • “Acts of Kindness” – small gifts and gestures.
  • Projects and policies demonstrating our push to Net Zero, including County Flats

Head of Organisation Development, Sian Hopkins said:

“All of us should be really proud to work for an organisation that really believes in its sustainable and social aspirations.

“To achieve the Platinum Status check is really prestigious, and the evidence on the ground, from foodbank donations to a real understanding of biodiversity among all staff, proves Tai Tarian is more than just a social housing provider.”
