NPT Homes is up for two prestigious honours at the annual Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW) awards.

The housing association has been shortlisted in both the Integration and Collaborative Working and the Client of the Year categories at the awards which celebrate the best of the construction industry in Wales.

The shortlisting in the Integration and Collaborative Working category came about as a result of £1.6 million refurbishment work on the Tŷ Gnoll Newydd housing complex in Neath.

The nomination recognised the achievements of contractors Contract Services, Pentan Architects, ER Brown (Cost Consultants), BFL (Electrical Contractors), KPA Consulting Engineers Ltd and DRAC Consulting who, together with NPT Homes, overcame great challenges during the redevelopment. It also highlighted the project team’s tenacity as well as the strength of their collaboration.

As a result of the first nomination, event organisers decided that NPT Homes should also be entered into the Client of the Year category. This award recognises innovation and value for money in construction projects as well as the encouraging and rewarding of excellence.

Steve Tucker, Director of Assets at NPT Homes, said:
“We’re very proud to have been shortlisted for these two awards which have come about as a result of the significant investment we have made in the upgrading and modernising of our properties. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, consultants and contractors to have been recognised in this way.”

Peter Thomas, Managing Director at Contract Services, one of the contractors to have been shortlisted alongside NPT Homes said:
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in the Integration and Collaborative Working category alongside NPT Homes and their other contractors. The Tŷ Gnoll Newydd refurbishment has presented many challenges but, through working closely with all our partners, we have been able to overcome them and provide tenants with a home fit for the 21st century.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport in July.
