Sports Teams undergo first aid training thanks to NPT Homes

NPT Homes is offering another round of free first aid courses to help support children’s sports teams from across the Neath Port Talbot Borough.

The three hour course will be held on Monday 18th April and will be run by Hands On First Aid Training at NPT Homes’ training centre in Briton Ferry.

Interested clubs are asked to get in touch with NPT Homes by calling 01639 505857 or emailing Jordannah.britton@npthomes.co.uk.

Keen to give back to the local community, NPT Homes has already provided 80 coaches at local sports clubs with emergency first aid training.

Representatives from Coedffranc AFC, Ynysygerwn Cricket Club, Margam Youth Centre and Welsh Higashi KarateKai all took advantage of the last training course which took place in January.

NPT Homes’ Corporate Services Officer, Karen Neale, said: “We have had many requests over the years for sponsorship from local sports clubs but rather than sponsor individual clubs we wanted to help as many as possible. We identified a demand for first aid training and have run several sessions for mini and junior team coaches so far.

All sessions have been very well received so I would urge any local clubs that haven’t benefited yet to book on for the next training course which takes place in April. All we ask in return is for clubs to include us on their websites and promote our involvement at any district rugby and football events during the year.”
