NPT Homes Provides Free First Aid Course for Local Sports Teams

NPT Homes is rolling out another free first aid course to help support youth sports teams from across the Neath Port Talbot Borough.

Keen to give back to the local community, the Registered Social Landlord has already provided three emergency first aid courses which has trained 49 coaches in preparation for future sporting seasons.

The free three hour long first aid course will be run by Hands on First Aid Training from 5:45pm – 9pm on Monday 7th September at NPT Homes’ dedicated training centre.

Representatives from 22 clubs including Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC, Neath Atheletic RFC, Pontardawe RFC, Cricket Wales, Glynneath Judo Club, Aberavon Green Stars and Baglan Blazers Basketball Club have already taken advantage of the free training course.

Any interested clubs based in the Neath Port Talbot Borough are asked to get in touch with NPT Homes by calling 01639 505860 or emailing jordannah.britton@npthomes.co.uk.

A maximum of three coaches/volunteers from each club can attend and places will be assigned on a first come first served basis. The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on Friday 4th September.

Andrew Roberts from Aberavon Green Stars, said:
“Thanks to NPT Homes we will now have trained first aiders at all of our games and tournaments taking place this season. Hands on First Aid Training gave us all the skills we need to deliver first aid with confidence. It was not only enjoyable but also very educational and informative.”

NPT Homes’ Corporate Services Officer, Karen Neale, said:
“Community Regeneration is high on our agenda. We have had many requests over the years for sponsorship from local sports clubs but rather than sponsor individual clubs we wanted to help as many as possible. We identified a demand for first aid training and our first training sessions was very well received.
I would urge any local clubs that missed out on these opportunities to book on for the September training course. All we ask in return is for clubs to include us as sponsors on their websites and to invite us along to events during the year such as local tournaments.”
