NPT Homes Partnership Proves a Success

Cyfle Building Skills Ltd, a CITB supported Shared Apprenticeship Scheme, is an award winning organisation that NPT Homes is working in partnership with. In the recent Constructing Excellence Wales Awards, Cyfle was awarded the Leadership and People Development Award 2015.

NPT Homes is committed to using the shared apprentice scheme across its Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) Improvement Programme and its own building maintenance service to develop the skills of local young people.

Since working in partnership with the award winning organisation, NPT Homes has been able to provide additional training opportunities to a number of apprentices in the past year.

Alex who is studying plumbing at Neath College, said:

“I am currently studying for my level 2 in plumbing before starting my level 3 later in the summer. I love this apprenticeship with Cyfle and the experience I am gaining with NPT Homes who are providing me with hands on experience, necessary skills and the knowledge to carry out all aspects of plumbing. I know finding a job can be difficult at the moment but since I started my apprenticeship in 2014 I’m feeling more and more confident and ready for the world of work.”

NPT Homes’ Chief Executive, Linda Whittaker, said:

“As an organisation we recognise the value of investing in apprenticeships and ensure all our contractors, where possible, take on local work placements and/or apprentices. We look forward to working with Cyfle to develop the skills of more young people in the Neath Port Talbot Borough.”
