NPT Homes On the Lookout for 4 Apprentices
NPT Homes is the largest social housing provider in South West Wales and it’s investing in the future skills of the community by launching a recruitment drive to find four new apprentices.
They are looking to recruit four committed people who are passionate about construction to pilot a new Level 2 Multi Trade Building Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship.
The 24 month long apprenticeships are up for grabs in the social housing provider’s maintenance department.
The programme has been designed to upskill applicants who have already gained a level 1 or 2 qualification in a craft trade or who have equivalent experience in the construction industry. The multi trade qualification will include skills in carpentry, plastering, bricklaying, plumbing, painting, roofing and labouring work.
When qualified, the successful applicants will be equipped to enjoy a varied and engaging work environment, carrying out a wide range of repair and maintenance work in both occupied and empty properties.
Josh Greenwood, who joined NPT Homes as a 3 year apprentice in 2012, said:
“Since joining NPT Homes I have been able to put the theory I have learnt at college into practice through some fantastic on the job training which has provided me with a wide range of building maintenance skills. Recently I have been lucky enough to have been taken on as a multi trade Maintenance Operative following the completion of my apprenticeship and I’m looking forward to my career with NPT Homes.”
Director of Assets, Steve Tucker, added:
“We are investing significantly in the local area in terms of enhancing our properties, improving our communities and creating employment opportunities. At the start of 2016 we took on 5 apprentices and now want to offer another 4 individuals the chance to be part of our organisation.
