NPT Homes Honours Volunteer Tenants
NPT Homes has honoured its loyal volunteers at a special event. The celebration which took place at St Theodore’s Church in Taibach was timed to coincide with Volunteers Week, a national campaign which highlights the contribution made by volunteers across the UK.
The event saw some of the housing provider’s tenants recognised for the time they spend volunteering. Each individual who has worked 10 hours are more for organisation was presented with a commemorative certificate.
Volunteers at NPT Homes are rewarded with their own Time Credits system which allows tenants to gain a credit for every hour of time they spend volunteering with the housing provider. These can then be exchanged for goods or services at various local businesses.
Muriel Lewis was one tenant who was honoured at the ceremony. She said:
"I have been volunteering for NPT Homes for a number of years. I find volunteering very rewarding as I get to meet so many new and interesting people. As a bonus, my husband and I get to use the time credits we earn on trips to the cinema or meals out.”
Tenant Empowerment Officer at NPT Homes, Amy Hines said:
“Holding this event during Volunteers Week seemed like the perfect opportunity to honour the dedicated team of volunteers we have here. Each one brings their own unique skills and experience to their respective roles and we are extremely grateful to them for the time they give to us.
We have a wide range of volunteer roles here and so I would urge anyone interested in helping out to get in touch with us.”
