NPT Homes’ Gardening Competition Returns As They Search for the Biggest Sunflower

Tue 31 May 2016

Launched last year at NPT Homes’ Annual General Members Meeting (AGM) and back by popular demand, NPT Homes’ garden competition has returned with extra exciting entries.

Extra categories that have been added to this year’s competition are best miniature garden and best alternative garden. These extra categories will join the ever popular best overall garden, best communal garden and best tubs and shrubs.

In addition to NPT Homes’ annual garden competition, NPT Homes is giving youngsters the opportunity to get involved and grow the biggest sunflower.

This is a new competition which gives tenant’s children or grandchildren the chance to pick up and plant a seed in an attempt to grow the biggest sunflower.

Seeds are available from any of NPT Homes’ offices now.

If you are a tenant with a child/grandchild under the age of 16, just call into one of NPT Homes’ offices to collect a seed or alternatively contact NPT Homes’ Tenant Empowerment Officer Lynsey Hargreaves on 01639 506662.

Tenant Empowerment Officer, Lynsey Hargreaves, said:

“Our Gardening Competition was really well received last year and this year we have added extra categories to make it even more inclusive.

It was mentioned by members at last year’s event that it would be great to have something children can get involved with. The sunflower competition is something fun and easy for youngsters to take part in and may even ignite a new found hobby for those who want to flex their green fingers.”

For an application form and further information about this year’s competition, call NPT Homes’ Tenant Empowerment Officer Lynsey Hargreaves on 01639 506662 or email involved@npthomes.co.uk

Closing date for entries is Thursday 30th June.

Judging will take place ahead of NPT Homes’ AGM on Tuesday 26th July.
