New Homes for Neath
Tai Tarian one of the largest social housing providers in Wales has unveiled more new homes in Neath.
Heol Llwyn Celyn, a quiet cul de sac in Caewern is now home to several families, couples, and individuals starting the next chapter of their lives in high quality housing.
The affordable homes for rent have been built with the help of a social housing grant from Welsh Government and support from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.
The development of the 8 two bedroom homes was carried out by Neath-based contractors, Hale Construction as part of Tai Tarian’s corporate priority to build more homes to help combat the housing crisis.
Within the last 7 months the organisation has unveiled 23 new homes across the Borough, whilst work is also due to complete on 6 two bedroom flats in Briton Ferry within the next two weeks.
In the next 18 months another 45 new homes will be built across the Borough.
Heol Llwyn Celyn was officially unveiled on Wednesday (22nd May) with Chair of the Board Jonathon Davies, Chief Executive Linda Whittaker, residents, contractors, representatives from Neath Port Talbot Council including local councillors in attendance.
For Jade and Ryan this is their first home with their newborn:
“We have been living with Ryan’s mum since our baby was born so things were starting to get a little crowded.
This house is perfect for our little family, we feel so lucky and are looking forward to a new start just the 3 of us.”
Chief Executive Linda Whittaker said:
“Developing new homes is a priority for us and these modern, affordable, rented properties are a great addition to the area, close to nearby schools and local amenities.
Our work continues with the building of 45 more homes in popular locations across the Borough by the end of 2020.
Our aim is that this commitment will not only help alleviate some of the housing demand but give local people homes they can be proud of.”
