NPT Homes Tenant Liaison Officer Nadine Sacchi has beaten off tough competition from hundreds of young housing leaders throughout the UK to make the top 20 in 24 Housing’s Young Leaders Award.

Now in its sixth year, the competition has rapidly grown in popularity since its inception in 2011, becoming one of the most talked about and prestigious events in the housing calendar.

Judges were impressed with Nadine’s empathy for all tenants she works with and the way she pays attention to their unique circumstances.

The 28 year old, who lives in Bridgend has enormous compassion for people and treats everyone as an individual, with care and respect.

Nadine is one of just two Welsh housing professionals to make the cut and over the next two weeks people are invited to vote for who they think deserves to make it through to this year’s semi-final day at the National Housing Federation’s (NHF) head office in London.

There are 10 places available at the roundtable event in July where candidates will take part in a heated debate between themselves and the Young Leaders judges, including NHF chief executive David Orr. Voting is open until Friday, 20 May on the 24 housing website:

Chief Executive Linda Whittaker said:
“Nadine is an exceptional individual who thoroughly deserves to be recognised on a national level. She has set the bar high and has become the 'go to' person for advice from technical issues regarding major works, dealing with contractors to sensitive issues when working with frail elderly tenants.
Her knowledge of the organisation, our values and how we operate is second to none. Still young she demonstrates emotional leadership to the whole team and promotes change improving performance in subtle ways.
Lots of colleagues have already voted for Nadine and we now want to encourage all those tenants she has helped over the years to vote too. Let’s help get her to the semi finals!”

Nadine added:
“I feel really privileged to have made the top 20 and feel especially proud to be of just two from Wales to have made the cut.
It would be a fantastic opportunity to make the Top 10 and represent NPT Homes in London. Fingers crossed I get the votes.”
