Mair Driven to Success at Transport Awards
A young, female employee at NPT Homes is celebrating after being shortlisted for an award in what is traditionally a male dominated industry.
Mair Jones, Transport Manager, for the housing provider has been nominated in the Transport Manager of the Year category at the annual Talent in Logistics Awards.
Organised by the RTITB, the regulatory body for the sector, the awards recognise and celebrate the skills of people in the logistics industry.
Mair, who is also a qualified HGV driving assessor, is responsible for keeping the organisation’s fleet of 130 commercial vehicles on the road. She was shortlisted after demonstrating an outstanding commitment to road user safety, customer service excellence and high levels of compliance.
Speaking after being shortlisted, Mair said:
“I was really surprised when I’d heard I’d been shortlisted for the award. Being a young, female transport manager, in what is a very male dominated industry, I am delighted to have been recognised in this way.”

Mair will find out if she’s the winner at an awards ceremony in Telford on 22nd June.
