Love your local... Street Art
Since Banksy adorned a garage in Taibach with his artwork in 2018 there has been a renaissance of street art in Port Talbot.
UK renowned street artists have brightened up the area with beautiful artwork, with a raft of local talent also emerging as a result. The artwork is so plentiful an app has been set up by Artwalk Port Talbot allowing you to
use your phone to go on a street art trail celebrating urban art in the area.
After working with Michael Sheen on several initiatives around ending high-cost credit and poverty it was fitting that through our community benefits scheme we were able to make a donation to the creation of his amazing mural by artist Hazard One.
Through our County Flats development we have also brightened up Sandfields Library with a beautiful mural showcasing some of the activities and services available within the building.
It also gives a nod to our commitment to the planet with wildflowers and butterflies included, representing our desire to transform our open spaces for nature.
The mural also includes sheep, as we are using their wool to insulate properties at the redevelopment.
The community hub at County Flats has been transformed with a beach scene from local artist Ryan Davies from
Another Spray Another Day.
Go and explore the local artwork, the app is free to download. With new artwork popping up all the time, there’s no doubt you will find more remarkable sights on your travels.
