Five apprentices who joined Tai Tarian 18 months ago have snapped up full time skilled operative roles with the social housing provider.

Local lads Tomos Grace, Fraser Richards, Joshua Hambley, Morgan Jones and Shane Lewis will be part of Tai Tarian’s trade workforce who maintain over 9000 properties owned by the organisation.

Over the past 18 months the quintet have been studying for their Level 3 Multi Trade Building Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship at Neath Port Talbot College. To bring their studies to life they have been part of a varied and engaging work environment with Tai Tarian, carrying out a wide range of repair and maintenance work in both occupied and empty properties.

They will now use their skills in carpentry, plastering, bricklaying, plumbing, painting, roofing and labouring as part of the day to day repairs and maintenance programme at Tai Tarian.

Fraser Richards said:
“The past 18 months have given us that hands on experience while we have studied for our level 3 multiskilled apprenticeship. To get a full time job with the organisation where we have learnt our craft has been fantastic, especially with Tai Tarian being on the doorstep for all of us.

Andrew Carey, Deputy Director of Assets at Tai Tarian added:
“Tomos, Fraser, Josh, Morgan and Shane have really impressed in the last 18 months and are fully deserving of their full time positions with us.

As an organisation we are proud to be investing in construction talent locally.”
