Cross Community Centre to Benefit from NPT Homes Community Challenge
The Cross Community Centre in Pontardawe is set to become the latest facility to receive a makeover as part of NPT Homes’ 2017 Community Challenge.
The challenge is a joint partnership programme between the housing provider and its main contractors, which allows different community projects to benefit from a day of free building or maintenance work.
Volunteers from NPT Homes and its contractor PBM Wales Ltd will spend a two days repairing, cleaning and decorating the centre’s main meeting room and staircase. The centre is a popular hub for many community groups, including the History Society, Angling Society and a playgroup.
The centre’s chairman, Carl Jones said:
“We are really grateful to NPT Homes and PBM Wales for coming along and helping us out. We have a wonderful, bustling facility here that belongs to the community. As well as ensuring our existing groups have a facility suitable for their needs the work will allow us to attract new groups which will help sustain the centre over the coming years.”
Huw Lane, Commercial Manager at PBM Wales said:
“As a local company, we are committed to investing in our community and are proud to be taking part in NPT Homes’ Community Challenge. We can’t wait to get started on the work at the Cross Community Centre and hope to give its users a facility they can be proud of.”
The work at the Cross Community Centre is scheduled to take place on 11th and 12th May 2017.
