Community Give Back Days Initiative A Hit At NPT Homes
A new initiative for employees at NPT Homes which allows them to give something back to the community is proving popular.
The social housing provider is allowing all employees the opportunity to take up to 5 days a year to get involved in projects that benefit the communities of Neath Port Talbot.
Several members of staff have taken time out of the day job recently to play their part in the Community Challenge. This is a yearly partnership project with the organisations contractors that benefits several community projects.
Staff have ditched the day job and instead donned overalls and picked up paintbrushes to revamp community halls, churches and schools.
Learning and Development Officer Sarah Hubbard who has recently taken part in the initiative said:
“It’s fantastic that NPT Homes allow us to take time out to give something back to our community. The vast majority of staff live locally so it makes it all the more meaningful. The project I was involved in saw us revamping my little girl’s school playground so it was really worthwhile.”
Chief Executive Linda Whittaker added:
“Our Give Back Days scheme is a fantastic opportunity for staff to become actively engaged in local community volunteering. The scheme has been really well received by employees who have embraced it so far and as a result they have been involved in exciting projects that work commitments may have previously prevented them from taking part in.”
