Staff and residents of NPT Homes have raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support by taking part in the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event on Friday 30th September.

At the housing provider’s Mozart Court Haven Housing scheme in Sandfields, residents held a coffee morning in the complex’s communal lounge. With dozens of cakes to choose from, as well as plenty of tea and coffee, residents were spoilt for choice. Through donations and a raffle, an amazing £505 was raised for Macmillan.

Tania Hearne, NPT Homes’ Accommodation Assistant at Mozart Court said:

“Macmillan Cancer Support is a cause very close to the hearts of many residents here. When the idea of a coffee morning was first suggested everyone was keen to get involved. I’m really proud of their efforts in raising so much money for this worthy cause.”

The coffee morning was one of the last events to be held in Mozart Court’s popular communal lounge before it undergoes refurbishment. The work forms part of NPT Homes’ multi-million pound investment programme, which is aiming to enhance people’s homes by 2017.

Meanwhile, at Tŷ Gwyn, NPT Homes’ head office in Baglan, staff were holding their own coffee morning. The event featured many types of cakes and treats baked by talented workers as well as a keenly fought “Bake-off” style contest. The fundraising meant staff collected £228 for Macmillan.

Through the combined efforts of staff and Mozart Court residents, NPT Homes was able to raise well over £733 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
