Awards nomination for Tai Tarian teams
Congratulations to our financial inclusion and universal credit teams who have been nominated for TPAS Cymru’s Good Practice Awards.
The teams have been shortlisted in the Resident Support and Advice Programme category for the work they do in supporting our tenants navigate the cost-of-living crisis.
For many years, the teams have been providing help with money worries, budgeting support and helping to claim additional benefits, but with the cost-of-living crisis severely impacting our tenants the teams have had their busiest year to date, with an extra 20 referrals every month.
Working closely with our communications team they have been proactive in promoting their money saving advice with a Steph’s Tips column in our quarterly newspaper Cartref and creating a series of social media campaigns including Instagram Reels and Tik Toks on what support is available, energy advice and money saving tips.
The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure tenants can access as much support as possible, including:
- 2730 referrals for support and advice
- 2,132 successful benefit claims
- 85% benefits appeal success rate
- £4,706,962 money raised in unclaimed benefits
- 605 food bank vouchers issued
- 87 fuel bank vouchers issued
The team will find out if they’ve been successful at the awards ceremony on 5th July.
