4000 thousand homes in Neath Port Talbot to have been condition checked by Christmas
A mammoth project to make sure around nine thousand properties in Neath Port Talbot are well-maintained and safe for residents has reached a key milestone.
Community landlord, Tai Tarian kicked off the borough-wide stock survey in March this year, aiming to check properties are up to standard.
By the close of this year the team of surveyors will have checked over 4 thousand homes, with around 5 thousand properties scheduled for 2023.
“Wellbeing”
Sian Peach is part of the programme to survey Tai Tarian homes. She said its not just about bricks and mortar:
“This is about residents as much as buildings. The surveys ensure the integrity of the home, while the team can pick up on any wellbeing issues residents might be facing. We know that every contact counts and sometimes people enjoy a chat!
“Keeping a close eye on the condition of our homes also helps us maintain compliance with the requirements of the Renting Homes Act Wales which finally came into force this month.”
If your home is due to be surveyed you will receive a letter to let you know. If you are unavailable the Tai Tarian team will leave a card.
There is also a number to call if any residents have questions or about the survey. The number is 01639 505221
