£1.7m Cwrt Catref Development Opens
Tai Tarian, has created a brand new community in Skewen after building 17 new properties.
Cwrt Cartref on Burrows Road in Skewen is now home to several families and individuals living in high quality housing.
The 12 flats, four houses and a bungalow were built with the help of a social housing grant from Welsh Government and support from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.
The project which was carried out by Neath-based contractors, Hale Construction is part of Tai Tarian’s corporate priority to build more homes. It is the third development to be opened in the last 6 weeks by the housing provider.
Tai Tarian Director of Assets, Steve Tucker said:
“We are delighted to see Cwrt Cartref open and the sense of community amongst our tenants living there already.
This is our largest development to date and helps to alleviate some of the pressure on the local housing stock, especially in high demand areas such as Skewen.”
Resident Ron Washington said:
“I lived in the old Cartref sheltered scheme for 14 years so love the Skewen area. After living in Banwen for the last 2 years its’ fantastic to be back in my old community. The quality of my home really is exceptional and I’m sure I’m going to be very happy here.”
