NPT Homes Community Challenge Set to help a Record Eight Projects in 2016
For the fourth year running, NPT Homes is investing in the local community by transforming a record eight community projects as part of their Community Challenge.
The partnership programme involves 12 of NPT Homes’ main contractors, and suppliers, and will see projects from across the Neath Port Talbot Borough benefit from free building or maintenance work.
Cymmer Afan Community Library, Waunceirch Primary School, Crymlyn Primary School, Ystalyfera Community Hall, Rhos Primary School, Blaenbaglan Primary School, Sandfields Methodist Church and The Apostolic Church in Cwmavon are the projects that will benefit this year.
The Community Challenge begun as a direct result of the community benefits that became part of all contracts drawn up by NPT Homes. As a result any business that works directly with the social housing provider must give something back to the community. So far the community challenge alone has seen £64,853 invested in the Borough up to 2015.
This year’s Community Challenge has already begun and will run until the summer with the winners benefiting from things such as the installation of new kitchens, pathways, internal and external decoration or the creation of new outdoor play and learning spaces.
Debra Bartoszewicz from Waunceirch Primary School said:
“We are absolutely delighted that our school will benefit from the community challenge. The project will allow our playground to be customised to benefit our autistic unit so that our pupils have a much needed safe environment to play."
NPT Homes’ Funding Officer, Andrew Hall added:
“We are delighted that in our fourth year of the community challenge we are able to offer a record 8 community projects the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of ourselves, our contractors and suppliers. More contractors and suppliers than ever before have been willing to take part in the project along with NPT Homes employees who all want give something back to the community.”
