Members Help Create AGM with a Difference for NPT Homes
Thanks to the detailed planning from a co design approach with members, NPT Homes’ 5th AGM has been an outstanding success.
Tenants and staff had spent several weeks planning and organising the event. The aim was to showcase the skills of tenants along with highlighting the services that NPT Homes and its partners can offer.
During the evening, tenants provided entertainment and showcased their talents.
Key stakeholders such as South Wales Police, Fire and Rescue Service and RNIB Cymru attended and helped raise awareness of how they work with NPT Homes and the support they can offer tenants.
The in-house Universal Credit team were also there, giving hands-on advice and information on the services they offer. With the assistance from Barclays Digital Eagles staff encouraged tenants to progress their IT skills and get on line safely.
Tenants were also given the opportunity to try plumbing a sink or wiring an electrical circuit under the guidance of NPT Homes’ skilled trades staff.
The night also included a snapshot of achievements over the last year and a look back at the projects that have benefitted from our annual Community Challenge programme.
A special part of the evening was the annual Tenant Award ceremony, where a number of tenants were recognised for the difference they make to NPT Homes and their local communities. This included the annual gardening competition, which is now in its second year.
The AGM plays an important role in the relationship between NPT Homes and its members. It is an opportunity for them to find out more about the organisation and its services and to vote on important decisions that will impact on its future.
Caroline Jeffs, Corporate Governance Officer at NPT Homes said:
“This year’s AGM was built from the success and record numbers from last year. We created the event through a co-design approach with our members. This year included a celebration of our 5th year since transfer and included showcasing some of the wonderful talents our tenants have. The formal proceedings gave members an opportunity to vote on key decisions which will help shape the future direction of the organisation. We are extremely pleased that so many members took the opportunity again this year to attend.”
Attendance at the AGM is only open to NPT Homes members. If you would like to attend next year you can become a member by ringing 01639 505857 or emailing CorporateServices@npthomes.co.uk. Alternatively, tenants can pick up membership forms from any NPT Homes office. Membership costs just £1.
